Answering a booking request

Updated 12 Sep 2026 2 min read

In short

You have 72 hours to answer a brief: accept, decline, or send one custom offer. Asking questions in chat does not pause the clock, and nothing is charged to the brand until you say yes.

Where briefs arrive

In your campaigns page, in your messages, and by email. All three at once, because a brief has a clock on it and missing one costs you the work.

Your four options

Accept

You are in at your listed price. The brand pays once the round closes, and you will be told the moment they do — that is when your posting deadline starts. Do not post before then.

Decline

Nothing is owed either way and it does not affect your rating or your profile.

Ask first

Message the brand in chat. Most are happy to clarify, and a question answered before you commit is better than a dispute afterwards. The 72 hours keeps running while you talk.

Send a custom offer

If the brief asks for more than your listed package covers — three reels rather than one post, a specific location, props you have to buy — name a price for this campaign specifically. You get one formal offer per campaign; keep talking in chat if you need to. The brand can accept it, discuss it, or go ahead without you.

What happens if you do nothing

The request lapses when the 72 hours are up. You are not penalised, but you are not booked either, and repeatedly ignoring briefs means fewer of them.

After you accept

Wait for payment. You will get a message and an email the moment the brand pays, with your posting deadline in it. Posting before that is at your own risk — if the brand never pays, the booking is released and there is nothing to be paid for.

How should I answer a brief I am unsure about?

Ask before you commit. A question like “is one reel enough, or do you need stories too?” answered in chat is worth far more than a guess, because once you accept, what you deliver is checked against the brief. If the answer shows the job is bigger than your package, send a custom offer rather than accepting at a price that does not cover it.

Keep everything in chat. Phone numbers and off-platform handles are blocked there for a reason: a booking arranged elsewhere has no payment protection and no record of what was agreed — see conduct and bans.

What does accepting a brief commit me to?

Once the brand pays, you are committed to publishing by their go-live date, or within 7 days of payment if they did not set one. Standard campaigns give 48 hours of grace after that deadline, with reminders before and after it. Past the grace the booking is cancelled, the brand is refunded and a warning is recorded on your account; three warnings lead to a ban.

When the post is live, submit the public link from your campaigns page. A moderator checks it and your fee moves to your wallet on approval — see submitting proof and getting paid.

What if the brand changes the brief after I accept?

You are committed to the brief you accepted, not to whatever is asked later. If a brand starts asking for extra work, say so in chat and, if it is not resolved, raise a dispute on the booking: the brand and our moderators see it in one thread. See if something goes wrong.

Frequently asked questions

How long do I have to answer a brand's brief?

You have 72 hours from the moment the brief is sent. Messaging the brand in chat does not pause the clock. You are reminded 24 hours and again 3 hours before it closes, and if you do nothing the request simply lapses. You are not penalised, but lapsed briefs lower the response rate brands see on your profile.

Does declining a brief hurt my profile?

No. Declining is an answer: it does not affect your rating, it counts as a response in the brief response rate shown to brands, and nothing is owed either way. What does count against you is ignoring briefs until they lapse, because brands read a low response rate as a creator who may not reply when it matters.

When should I send a custom offer?

Send one when the brief asks for more than your listed package covers, such as three videos instead of one post, a specific location, or props you would need to buy. You get one formal offer per campaign. The brand can accept it, talk it through in chat, or continue without you, and the 72 hours do not restart.

When do I start working after accepting?

Wait for the brand to pay. They pay once the round closes and have 24 hours to do it. You are messaged and emailed the moment they do, and that message carries your posting deadline: their go-live date, or 7 days from payment. Posting before payment is at your own risk, because an unpaid booking is released.
