Connecting your accounts is optional. Connect TikTok, Instagram or a Facebook Page and brands see verified stats read straight from the platform, with a tick; YouTube is read from your public channel with nothing to connect.
What connecting does
Brands want to know that the numbers on a rate card are real. Connecting an account lets us read them from the platform itself, so your followers, engagement and recent performance appear on your rate card with a ✓ Verified tick and the time they were last checked. In browse, verified creators are shown first whenever a brand’s chosen order has no other preference, and brands can tick Verified stats only.
It is entirely optional. If you do not connect, your profile stays complete with the numbers you entered, labelled as creator-provided. Nothing is hidden, and you are not pushed out of any results.
Platform by platform
- YouTube — nothing to connect. We read your public channel: subscribers, total views and the views, likes and comments on your recent uploads. YouTube rounds public subscriber counts above 1,000 to three significant figures, and your rate card says so.
- TikTok — connect with your TikTok login. We read followers, likes and your recent videos’ views, likes, comments and shares. TikTok does not share audience age, gender or location with apps, and your analytics tab says that rather than guessing.
- Instagram — needs a professional account (Business or Creator), which you can switch to for free in Instagram’s settings. We read followers, reach and your recent posts, and Instagram also gives audience age, gender and top locations.
- Facebook — a Page, not a personal profile, because personal profiles share no follower numbers with any app. We read followers and engagement on recent posts, plus whatever reach figures Meta still reports for Pages.
How to link a platform
Open Account → Linked accounts, or the Verify your numbers card on your dashboard. Press Link account next to a platform, sign in on that platform’s own page and approve access. You come straight back, and the screen shows the account it is linked to. Your numbers are read at once and then refreshed every day.
The same screen counts how many of the four platforms you have linked. Link all four and your name carries the blue verified tick on your rate card, in browse and on every list you appear on — see how to get the verified tick.
What we can and cannot do
We ask only for read-only permissions. We can never post, comment, message or spend as you. The access key a platform gives us is encrypted before it is stored, there is no screen anywhere that shows it, and nobody on our team can read it.
If a refresh fails or a connection breaks
If a platform does not answer on one day’s refresh, your rate card keeps the last good figures and says when they were checked. It never drops to zero. If the connection itself stops working — you changed your password, or removed our access in the platform’s settings — we email you, the verified tick comes off, and your own number is shown until you reconnect. Bookings are never affected.
Unlinking
Press Unlink on the same screen at any time. We delete our copy of the access key, ask the platform to revoke it where the platform allows that, and your rate card goes back to the numbers you entered, without the tick.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to connect my accounts to be booked?
No. Connecting is a choice. If you do not connect, your rate card shows the follower numbers you entered, labelled as creator-provided, and brands can book you exactly as before. Connecting adds a verified tick and puts you ahead of unverified creators when a brand's chosen sort is otherwise equal, which is the only difference it makes.
Can Influ.com.lk post or send messages from my account?
No. We only ask the platforms for read-only permissions: your profile, follower numbers, recent posts and, where the platform offers it, audience insights. We cannot post, comment, message or spend money as you. Your access key is encrypted before it is stored, and no one on our team can read it.
Why does my YouTube subscriber count look rounded?
YouTube itself rounds public subscriber counts above 1,000 to three significant figures, so 12,345 subscribers is reported to everyone as 12,300. We show exactly what YouTube gives us and say so on the rate card, rather than inventing a more precise number. Views, likes and comments on recent videos are not rounded.
What happens if my connection stops working?
If a platform stops accepting the connection, for example because you changed your password or removed our access, we email you and remove the verified tick until you reconnect. Your rate card keeps showing your platform with the number you entered, so nothing disappears and no booking is affected. Reconnecting takes about a minute.
